Many of my paintings begin with my own infrared photographs. Rather than reproducing the images exactly, I reinterpret their extraordinay colors in acrylic paint, creating landscapes that blend memory, observation, and imagination. In this painting, the vibrant prickly pear reminded me of the handmade quilts in my grandmother's home, connecting the Texas landscpe eith cherished family memories.
