Aluminum Roses began with smashed and repurposed aluminum cans. I shaped and layered the metal to create repeating cactus pads, then used acrylic paint in an infrared color scheme and texture to bring the prickly pear forms to life. The repetition gives the work rhythm and abundance, while the recycled materials reflect my interest in finding beauty and possibility in objects that might otherwise be discarded.
